Undergods is a blindingly beautiful movie. The wasteland cityscapes are nothing short of breath-taking, and instantly capture the bleak and desolate vibe that penetrates everything. UNDERGODS is a very dark fantasy movie with an anthology-like story.
Undergods masterfully highlights and capitalises on the human desire to be autonomous and unchallenged. The movie's effort to link together the characters' lives, however, was somewhat jarring. An otherworldly journey through a Europe in decline - a collection of darkly humorous, fantasy tales about ill-fated characters and doomed fortune.
