With Austin Highsmith, Karynn Moore, Michael Aaron Milligan, Ann Sonneville. Chloe (Karynn Moore) is a nanny who desperately wants to adopt but needs to get her life together first. She finds the perfect live-in nanny position with the Brown family - Emily (Austin Highsmith), Michael (Michael Aaron Milligan) and their son - that will help get her life back on track. 'The Captive Nanny' touches upon over-protective parenting, paranoia, gaslighting, adoption, and similar issues that are significant and makes for a good thriller movie with its powerful storytelling.
The cast all does a very nice job, especially Karynn Moore. Moore gives a very good performance. "The Captive Nanny" is a different kind of Lifetime movie and I liked it. The Captive Nanny appears nearly identical to the film that pre-dates its premiere by only ten days.
Both are Lifetime thrillers about live-in nannies being hired by a security-obsessed but otherwise seemingly perfect couple, only to later learn dark secrets about. Synopsis (via Lifetime) Chloe is a nanny who desperately wants to adopt but needs to get her life together first. Wan and lugubrious, The Captive represents another atmospheric, beautifully filmed misfire from director Atom Egoyan. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Scott Speedman, Rosario Dawson, Mireille Enos, Kevin Durand, and Alexia Fast. Rob and Chloe plead their case to an adoption agency. Chloe can't have children but she has always wanted a family.
