The only startling thing about "No Good Deed" is the fact that actors as talented as Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson decided to sign on for a project that plays like a failed attempt at a Lifetime movie. Elba, of course, has been venerated in many quarters for his work on "The Wire," and Henson has proven herself a delightful presence in films like "Hustle & Flow" and "The Curious Case of.
It's also a very good thriller with a deep and important message. I have started this review a few times now trying to think of something positive to say. This movie was terrible from start to finish.
And I hate reviews that simply just say terrible or great without going into a bit of detail as to which part. No Good Deed might look like just another cheap, paint-by-numbers thriller, but this B-movie starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson is slightly better, and slightly more interesting, than youíd. The movie's treatment of female characters is potentially offensive, as is its negative depiction of African-American characters. Wondering if No Good Deed is OK for your kids?
