The movie makes good use of the actuals tactics and methodology of present day jihadists. But some of the terms, such as the halawas, could be better defined. The Spy and the Traitor is an excellent spy thriller and documentary in one. MacIntyre chronicles the life and work of Oleg Gordievsky, one of the wests most effective spies inside the Soviet Union during the cold war. Good writing gives this documentary as much supsense as any made up spy story.
Tommaso Buscetta, a made man, flees to hide out in Brazil. However, whereas those movies warranted this attention span, The Traitor could have spent more time in the editing room. Pierfrancesco Favino stars as Buscetta, alongside Maria Fernanda Cândido, Fabrizio Ferracane, Fausto Russo Alesi and Luigi Lo Cascio Kera Mersal is back in "The Good Traitor", by Ryan Quinn a sequel to "End of Secrets" (though you don't have to read End of Secrets to jump into this one). While I liked End of Secrets, The Good Traitor is even more fast paced and entertaining.
