It's an effective little thriller and a challenge. In DADDY'S GIRL, an afflicted young woman (Jemma Dallendar) is held captive by her abhorrent stepfather (Costas Mandylor) in a small town. She soon becomes a person of interest to a female.
The Last Horror Movie is a film that remains unforgettable, therefore it was pleasing to be given the opportunity to review Richards's latest film, albeit different, crime horror, Daddy's Girl. I say that it is a decent movie because the overall plot was pretty solid and the acting was very good. However, it could have been a great film if the story could have been told with greater detail and the film had been better edited.
Parents need to know that the movie includes scenes that show and imply child abuse. With William Katt, Michele Greene, Roxana Zal, Mimi Craven. A girl's bright smile masks a psychopathic soul that will eliminate anyone who comes between her and her doting father. Daddy's Little Girls may be heavy-handed and drearily predictable, but it also should connect with its core audience as solidly as Perry's previous efforts did, even if the drama is frequently just as over the top as its predecessors. The good news is that I found the sequel better than the original—the writing sharper, the jokes fresher and smarter, the comic interaction between the lead characters consistently engaging.
DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL is a bold and bonkers torture-fest, as advertised. It also happens to be a solid indie-drama at the same time.
